I get awfully romantic somedays, days where I want to make the trek to the lake not far from here and have a picnic and read a book, and that's where I found the inspiration for this particular outfit. I tend to dress around feelings, like the feeling of your feet in the water, the feeling of driving downtown with the windows open or the feeling of being in love. This makes my wardrobe a bit manic, since I buy things that make me feel more than whether they fit into my current wardrobe, regardless of their practicality.
I'm leaving home to go back to Toronto for school. One thing I'll miss most about the prairies is how overwhelming and inspiring nature is. Since I started developing my own style, only two or three years ago, I've found that woodsy and whimsy influences find their way into my wardrobe, whether intentionally or not.

Very cute :)
ReplyDeletePersonally, I don't think the pastel colors and the moss green go that well together. But I do love anything dark green, and that definitely includes that sweater! Also, when you said you dressed to reflect this feeling, "I want to make the trek to the lake not far from here and have a picnic and read a book", I immediately thought, "Oh, yeah, I see that."
ReplyDeleteYou are so cute! I love the whole look! Is that dress fully shirred?
